To get me through these covid-19 times, i have three mantras for me and my students: reinvent within restrictions. learn within limitations. blossom within boundaries. today i’m focusing on how to reinvent lessons and move them to an online platform. in the past, i’ve held successful online lessons with facetime, skype and facebook messenger.. Optimize zoom audio settings for a remote music lesson during the coronavirus self-quarantine, my kids have been taking advantage of video conferencing for many of their classes. in the very brief video below, i go through a few of the settings i select in zoom to optimize the audio quality for my daughters’ piano lessons.. Zoom is free to use for most uses. the only reason to upgrade is if you are taking group lessons that last over 40 minutes and/or you want to use it for a webinar. reasons to use zoom. there are many advantages to using zoom: the quality of the call is much better compared to other video conferencing software.

Facetime, skype, and google hangouts all work for online lessons, but i prefer zoom video conferencing for several reasons:. it’s free (meetings with 3+ more people have 40-minute time limit.
